FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for sealing piston-cylinder pair mainly in piston internal combustion engines. Proposed seal contains guide cylinder and piston provided with split sealing rings with two cuts which are pressed by expansion springs to cylinder walls. Sealing rings are installed in piston ring grooves without gaps in joints and clearance between end face surfaces of piston grooves and sealing rings is 0.01-0.03 mm. Rings are made of porous powder materials. EFFECT: improved serviceability and increased service life of piston-cylinder pair seal. 2 dwg
