FIELD: detergents. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detergent composition for keratin materials. Composition containing in cosmetically acceptable medium at least one C8-C30-amide-ester sulfate, at least, one anionic surface-active substance taken among anionic alkyl-C6-C24-sulfates, alkyl-C6-C24-ester sulfates, alkyl- -C6-C24-ester carboxylates and alkyl-C6-C24- polyglucosides and at least one cationic polymer with charge density of cations that is equal or above 1 mg- eq/g. The weight ratio between indicated anionic surface-active substances and alkyl-C8-C30-amide-ester sulfates is from 100 to 0.01. Invention relates also to method for cosmetic treatment of keratin materials with the proposed detergent composition. The combination of alkyl-C8-C30-amide-ester sulfate with some anionic surface-active substances and some cationic polymers in cosmetically acceptable medium improves cosmetic properties of dry hair (confers to them smoothness by touch, elasticity and luster) and doesn't irritate eye mucosa.
