FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing supersolid materials and purification of cubic boron nitride from hexagonal graphite-like boron nitride in process of its preparing. Method for purification of cubic boron nitride from hexagonal graphite- -like boron nitride involves alloying their mixture with sodium hydroxide, discharging mixture into alkali melt at the rate 10-20 g/min at constant elevation of melt temperature above alkali melting point at the rate 3.0-6.0 degree/min/ Invention allows diminishing loss of cubic boron nitride in the process of its purification in simultaneous reduction of sodium hydroxide consumption.
