FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention elates to preparing magnesium phosphates, namely, to method for preparing trimagnesium phosphate polyhydrate of the formula [Mg3(PO4)2•nH2O]. Trimagnesium phosphate polyhydrate with highly developed surface of crystal hydrates is isolated from suspension of mixed solutions at t = 60-70 C and pH of solution 7.0-7.5 by mixing the preliminary prepared potassium hydroxide or potash solution with phosphoric acid in the molar ratio of potassium to phosphorus in solution = 3:1. Then solution is mixed with magnesium sulfate solution where the molar content of magnesium is equivalent to molar content of potassium in the parent mixing solution. Then magnesium phosphate is isolated from mother liquor suspension firstly followed by isolation of potassium sulfate by vacuum- crystallization evaporation. Invention provides preparing trimagnesium phosphate polyhydrate with highly developed active surface of preparing crystal hydrates that can be used as crystal hydrate in units for preparing freshened water and as catalysts and adsorbents of light filling agents. EFFECT: improved preparing method. 2 cl, 2 ex
