FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for use in brake systems of vehicles, mainly, trucks and their trailers. Proposed adjusting lever has body, worm fixed on shaft, worm wheel connected with brake cam drive shaft, slack adjuster consisting of free-wheeling clutch, two- prong fork and fixed pin, friction lock consisting of two friction disks and spring. Novelty is that lever has axially adjustable worm shaft support whose outer seat diameter exceeds diameter of worm points. Adjustable support is located in body between worm and automatic slack adjuster and is provided with bore to install friction lock including additional friction disk for closing on worm body and drive of automatic slack adjuster. Free end of worm shaft is brought out of body and is provided with flats for wrench. Adjustable support can be made in form of threaded bushing turned into body and locked by screw. EFFECT: improved reliability of vehicle brake system, its performance characteristics, repairability and facilitated process of slack adjustment. 3 cl, 2 dwg
