FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves treating biological medium with electric current placed into interelectrode space of electric current pickup, measuring interelectrode potential within a given time interval from zero level to lower one defined as beginning of plateau formation and recording operation dynamics spent on electrochemical reactions under varying interelectrode potential from the lower level to the upper one during given time interval. Then, generalized work value is decomposed into four independent components and dynamics is recorded for each of them. Positive dynamics of each of the four works being observed, inflammation process progress is to be predicted. Negative one being the case, process regress is to be predicted. Device has zone having pickup electrodes, power supply source, control circuit having Start button, unit for measuring time intervals, two threshold elements, memory units, instrument for measuring electric current, instrument for measuring zero voltage level, instrument for measuring work, Alphanumeric printer, arithmetic logical unit and indicator units.
