FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves passing direct electric current via biological medium into interelectrode probe space using current electrode. Changes in indicator electrodes interelectrode potential difference are measured within given time interval from zero level to the lower one. Then, work spent for electrochemical reactions in dynamics are recorded when interelectrode potential varies from the lower to upper level within given time interval. Positive work dynamics being observed, inflammation process progress is predicted, negative one being the case, regressive development is predicted. The device has probe having parallel flat current- conducting transducer electrodes and the third and the fourth indicator electrodes arranged between them, stabilized current source, key, control circuit connected to Start button, time interval measurement unit and two threshold elements.
