FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing dilating device holding proximal end into urethra after cooling it. Urethra dilation is carried out continuously during 2-6 months. Three cryoapplication sessions are administered in turn beginning from the third -fourth day to stricture projection area in known mode. Uroantiseptic preparations are administered during t1 day from the beginning and five days after the dilation treatment is over. Stricture length being greater than 35 mm and stricture location being in the physiological curvature areas, two or more device are to be set. The devices are connected according to telescope principle. Device has tube manufactured from a material possessing shape memory properties having rounded feeler edges on one end and longitudinal cut. The tube is manufactured from TiNi foil of 0.7-1.1 mm thickness The tube has conic shape with difference between opening diameters of the distal and proximal ends being equal to 2 mm. Feelers are arranged on proximal end and are 7 mm long and 1.0-1.2 mm wide. The feelers are directed at an angle of 20-30 deg to the longitudinal tube axis. Tube length is equal to 30-40 mm.
