FIELD: machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of using elastic article having lower surface with preset profile and upper surface; using reference article with upper surface having reference profile; applying at least part of lower surface of elastic article to upper surface of reference article and applying effort for providing elastic deformation of elastic article by predetermined value in such a way that to make shape of lower surface of elastic article the same as shape of upper surface of reference article; working upper surface of elastic article for providing its predetermined configuration; releasing effort applied for deforming elastic article in order to provide deformation of upper surface of elastic article to desired configuration. Reference article includes upper surface with bent profile and it has large number of stepped surfaces. EFFECT: enhanced quality of article, enlarged manufacturing possibilities. 25 cl, 7 dwg
