FIELD: metallurgy, chemical industry, building materials. SUBSTANCE: finely divided silicon oxide-containing dust with particles size <0.3 mcm is passed in continuous regimen through narrow gap between two smooth rollers of press where rollers rotate toward each to other. Ratio of roller diameter to it length = 1:3.84. Method shows high output and allows preparing ready product with bulk weight value 0.6-0.9 g/cm³ that allows transporting siliceous material and provides retention of its active properties. Invention can be used for thickening and utilization of silicon oxide-containing dust of scrubbing silicon in electrothermal production and high-silicon ferroalloys.
