FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of amplitudes of vibrations in mechanical engineering, aircraft industry and other fields. SUBSTANCE: reference and measurement beams of coherent radiation are formed, interference field is obtained, radiation frequency of one beam is displaced relative to another by value less than ω/2, where ω is vibration frequency of controlled object. Signal proportional to brightness of interference field is obtained, signal filtration is conducted and its character is used to make judgment on amplitude of vibration. During signal filtration only harmonic components included in interval nω±Δ, where n=1,2,3...are left in it and Δ<ω, Swing of signal before and after filtration is measured and amplitude of vibration is found by formula.
