FIELD: radiation monitoring at border-line checkpoints, automobile, railway stations, airports, customs. SUBSTANCE: method involves detection of radiation power by means of group of simultaneously operating detectors in consecutive time moments, generation of matrix of measurements, calculation of difference δ between matrix of measurements and reference matrix which is produced from data about background radiation and speed of measured object by means of calculation of vicinity measure using given distance function. Then calculated difference δ is compared to threshold value δth. Threshold value of matrix of measurements and reference matrix is calculated during operations of system without objects to be measured using equations . Readings of detectors are generated according to following rules: zero if signal is , one if signal is , where λ is mean background intensity. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 2 cl, 2 dwg
