DRAINING TUBE FOR DRAINING COMMON HEPATIC DUCT IN PERFORMING LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY AND METHOD FOR FIXING THE TUBE IN THE CYSTIC DUCT Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2218190 C1

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has 20-25cm long polyethylene tube having fastening means and thread on the proximal end. The proximal end is cut at right angle and the fastening means is manufactured as coupling member from catgut ligature placed 2-2.5 cm distant from the tube cut. Length of free thread ends is equal to 1-1.5 cm on ligature knot. The method involves introducing the drain tube into the common hepatic duct via notched cystic duct and geometrically fixing it in the cystic duct. The draining tube is completely introduced into the abdominal cavity together with ligature coupling member. The proximal end of the draining tube is introduced into the common hepatic duct by immersing the sealing ligature coupling member 1-2 cm deep into cystic duct lumen. Moderate cystic duct tension is achieved above the place the draining tube is introduced, by applying traction to the tube. The ligature coupling member ends and cystic duct wall are clipped in this position as close as possible to the draining tube. Distal end of the draining tube is brought out via an additional trocar pierce in the abdominal wall. The exit point is determined in a way that wound canal in the abdominal wall has the same direction as that of the cystic duct. The draining tube is shortened to 10-12 cm and extended with more thick tube so that the connection is separated when an accidental traction is applied to the thick tube and the draining tube stays not removed. EFFECT: prevented bile discharge. 2 cl, 1 dwg
