REINFORCING BLOCK FOR COASTAL OR SHORE INSTALLATIONS AND PROCESS OF ITS LAYING Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: hydraulic engineering and construction. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to reinforcing blocks for coastal or shore construction and methods of laying of above- mentioned blocks with hydraulic stability of surface of slopes and saving of construction funds. Reinforcing block has body forming octagonal column with right-angle sides and perforated hole in center, support made as one unit and alternatively attached to each side of body and protruding foot made in each lower and upper part of support. Each angle of support and foot has bevel. Perforated hole can have shape of square, each side of perforated hole is parallel to side of body possessing no mentioned supports. For laying of such blocks reinforcing block is inclined through certain angle and each side of support of block contacts another side of support of adjacent block over entire direction of rows. If reinforcing blocks are placed under artificial reinforcing blocks relation of weight of reinforcing block to weight of artificial reinforcing block amounts to 1: 3-1:10.
