FIELD: mining industry, provision for safe labor conditions in coal mines. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention lies in prevention of gas eruption due to use of deep outgassing of rock mass. With this in mind holes are drilled and dynamics of change of gas concentration in air current coming from dead face are determined. Duration of excess of measurement limit of gas concentration in air current is established in each cycle of advance of face in working. Then volume of gas eruption is found and measures to prevent next manifestations of the latter are taken. Volume of gas eruption is established by air flow rate, duration of eruption and concentration of gas which is determined in cross point of extrapolated logarithmic lines in time limits of start and finish of eruption. In this case concentration of gas exceeding 100% is taken as 100%. Measures to prevent gas eruptions are carried out by intensification of outgassing process in coal mass fore of face in working. To achieve this coal mass is subjected to active action through underground holes. Adoption of invention makes it possible to provide for safe labor conditions for miners in preparation face and in mine workings bordering on it by implementation of measures for intensification of outgassing process in coal mass by means of underground holes.
