FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying ultrastructural examination of cancer tumor affecting rectosigmoid portion of the rectum and sigmoid colon. Necrosis, marked apoptosis, active lymphocytes, fibrillogenesis and dystrophic transformations in blood vessels being detected; ectasia phenomena with conclusion on irreversible necrotic changes in carcinoma cells their death, substitution of necrotized tumor layers being detected; when examining rectal carcinoma at electronic microscopy level, necrosis factors of the same type but of greater expression level being detected; condensed nuclear chromatin, margination process in cytoplasm, lysis and proportional necrosis of various sizes being detected and conclusion being drawn concerning reduction in synthesis of nucleic acid and protein in nuclei, disorders in cytoplasmatic membrane permeability and changes in cytoplasm as consequence; when administering immunohistochemical examination on the same material after applying the mentioned treatment, reactions with proliferation factor markers like Ki- 67, PCNA, REA and EMA being set and positive response being observed as distinct coloring, revealing their expression and connective tissue markers and conclusions being drawn concerning endothelium-, basal membrane-, type IV collagen marker blockage, inhibition of angiogenesis, availability of capillary type blood vessels, hyperplastic transformations of endothelium as well as proliferative processes in vascular bed, the referred morphological signs are considered to be prognosis factors in determining treatment effectiveness. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of prognosis.
