METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF LIVER METASTASES IN RECTAL CANCER Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2585122 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to a method for prediction of liver metastases in rectal cancer. Method comprises, after curative resection in hemicolectomy volume in tissue of malignant tumour in patients with rectal cancer, determining level of active form of a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF-A) and soluble vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF-R), and calculating ratio thereof. If values exceeding index in intact tissue rectal mucosa 18 or more times, metastatic liver involvement is predicted in next 3.5 months.

EFFECT: use of disclosed method improves efficiency of predicting liver metastases in rectal cancer.
