FIELD: cleaning reservoirs contaminated with petroleum products by means of liquid possessing definite chemical properties. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes jet treatment of internal surfaces with washing solution, separation of emulsion formed during this treatment into washing solution and contaminants, removal of contaminants and repeated use of washing solution. Jet treatment is performed at two stages: first stage includes rough treatment beginning with low inner surfaces of tank gradually shifting to upper surfaces; tank is filled with emulsion to depth no less than minimum level of stratification of solution and contaminants; emulsion is settled in inside tank being cleaned till separation of washing solution and contaminants; upper layers at high concentration of contaminants are removed and lower layers are directed for storage; if necessary, cycle is repeated and then finishing treatment is performed; washing solution is used in strictly proportioned volumes during finishing treatment; emulsion thus formed is immediately directed to separator after treatment at volume equal to said proportioned volume of washing solution; it is settled till stratification after which excessive liquid is removed and remaining washing solution is directed for storage; procedure is repeated if necessary. Device proposed for realization of this method includes washing unit mounted inside tank and connected with pump for delivery of washing solution by means of pipe line, reservoir for storage of washing solution and reservoir for receiving contaminants. Besides that, device includes contaminant receiver secured on upper neck of tank which is connected with contaminant receiving reservoir through scavenge pump. Device is also provided with intake unit for removal of washing solution after settlement; this unit has scavenge pump connected with washing solution storage reservoir by means of pipe line, separator made in form of reservoir whose volume is equal to volume of dose of washing solution required for finishing treatment; it is provided with inlet branch pipes: one branch pipe is connected with delivery main of pump of washing unit and other branch pipe is connected with pipe line of scavenge pump; it is also provided with outlet branch pipes: one branch pipe is located in lower portion of separator and is provided with shut-off valve and is connected with washing solution storage reservoir; drain branch pipe is fitted on upper boundary of proportioned volume; it is provided with shut-off valve and is connected with contaminant receiving reservoir. EFFECT: improved quality of washing due to fine separation of washing solution and contaminants; simplified construction. 11 cl, 2 dwg
