MACHINE FOR OXYGEN CUTTING OF TUBES Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: apparatuses for gas-flame cutting of tubes, possibly annular cutting of tubes of main pipelines at restoring them by cut-in method with use of so called "spool". SUBSTANCE: machine includes carriage driven by means of handle, flexible metallic belt, mechanism for tensioning belt. Said mechanism includes double-arm levers with jockey rollers and tension screw provided with spring. Cutter with securing mechanism includes spring-loaded tie rod moving along rocking guides, string and guiding mechanism for said string in the form of hinged parallelogram. Enhanced efficiency is achieved due to eliminating operation of preliminary marking out of cutting line at motion of machine along tube as cutter path is set by tensioned string that joins center of second tube end with cutter by means of hinged mechanism providing constant projection of string axis to point of crossing cutter axis with tube surface and constant length of cone generatrix described by string.
