FIELD: metallurgy; production of artificial rutile from titanium-containing raw materials, from leucoxene concentrates in particular obtained during concentration of titanium siliceous ores. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes creating of temperature in furnace above temperature of metal bath. Then, charge containing leucoxene concentrate is loaded on surface of molten metal bath and melt is kept till separation of silicon-titanium and titanium siliceous melts by density; melts are tapped separately. Temperature in furnace is maintained between 1700 and 1800 C. Titanium slag is directed for further processing. Auxiliary silicon phase may be used as valuable vitroceramic casting.
