FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns separating pig iron and slag after their common discharge from blast furnace operated on titanium-magnetite iron-ore material. Invention consists in that, when discharging smelting products from blast furnace into separation arrangement, as additive, dustlike mixture fraction at most 1 mm is entered containing 70-90 wt % of oxidized iron constituent and 10-30 wt % of fuel-carbon constituent, specific rate of mixture being set in accordance with a certain relationship. As such an additive, blast furnace dust may be utilized. In this case, efficiency of separating pig iron and titanium-containing slag increases since iron monoxide oxidizes TiO and TiC and pig iron-slag adhesion force decreases, pig iron drops coagulate between each other and principal bulk of pig iron, and thickness of intermediate layer diminishes. EFFECT: facilitated pig iron-lag separation. 2 cl, 2 tbl
