FIELD: manufacture of welded metallic constructions, namely methods for making large-size vessels of sheet material, for example hoppers for loose and liquid media, gas holders, covers and bottoms of technological reservoirs. SUBSTANCE: method of making cone large-size constructions comprises steps of cutting out blank in the form of developed cone; preliminarily shaping cone; finally shaping cone after preliminarily shaping it; further joining blank edges by welding; performing preliminary and final shaping by raising blank and drawing together its edges by means of tightening device; placing onto joined edges of blank beams provided with locking members and with levers secured to beams; arranging tightening device onto said levers; realizing preliminary shaping of cone by raising blank and providing partial drawing together of joined edges; realizing final shaping by drawing together joined edges due to bringing levers together; removing beams after joining edges by welding; beading lower edge of cone by spinning process.
