FIELD: electric arc welding processes and equipment, possibly in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: electric arc welding aggregate has power source it the form of large number of fuel elements and it operates with use of liquid organic fuel. In fuel elements methanol-aqueous mixture is used as organic reagent. At operation fuel elements form carbon dioxide as reaction product that is used as shield gas during electric arc welding process. Fuel elements are assembled in group for providing desired values of voltage and current of electric arc between electrode and part. Electric arc welding aggregate includes welding circuit for controlling waveform of electric current passing through electrode and for regulating or increasing electrode voltage. In variant of invention aggregate includes means for generating additional voltage being more than load demand during transition mode of pulse circuit. Method comprises steps of using electrode, electric power source generating electric current and having fuel element according to first variant of invention and large number of fuel elements according to second variant of invention; welding circuit and means for supplying above mentioned current to said welding circuit in order to form electric arc between electrode and part.
