FIELD: restoration of machine parts, particularly restoration of seats for inserts of thrust bearings of cylinder units of diesel engines, piston compressors. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily applying coating onto surface of opening by means of electric spark process with use of electrode of Nichrome with cross section 20 -25 sq.mm at pulse frequency 200 - 250 Hz and electric current value 5 - 10 A; boring opening and applying polymeric composition; shaping applied composition by means of core mounted on supports related with technological bases; using polymeric composition with next relation of its ingredients, mass p.: anaerobic sealant; iron powder, 4 - 5; talc, 15 - 20.
