FIELD: machine engineering, possibly automated assembling of threaded joints. SUBSTANCE: mounting tool includes housing with shaped seat having inner engagement members in the form of alternating curvilinear dents and indentations. Shaped seat of mounting tool has inlet portion with depth equal to height of flange-adjoining chamfer in head of fastening part; said inlet portion is made on end and it is in the form of cylindrical land and adjoining to it cone portion. Diameter of cylindrical land D1 = (1.05 - 1.1)D, where D - outer diameter of circle describing dents of shaped head of fastening part. Depth of cylindrical land is equal to depth-half of inlet portion. Portions of lateral surface of dents and indentations are cylindrical ones. Contour of generatrix of dents and indentations restricting contour of shaped seat of tool has successively joined zones which are determined relative to coordinates of contour of head of fastening part by means of predetermined relations. Mounting tool according to invention provides enhanced centering and accurate placing of mounting tool on fastening part while preventing crumpling of shaped head of fastening part.
