FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hopper cars for transportation of loose loads. Proposed modular hopper-car has body of elliptical shape in cross section with charge hatches 13 on roof and discharge hatches 18 in bottom of hoppers 17 secured below load-bearing frame 3 furnished with reinforced cantilever parts to level of bolsters 4 with center plates for fastening bogies 2 of running gear, coupling devices and draft gears secured on reinforced cantilever parts rigidly connected by side binding of frame and cross T-beams arranged between hoppers in planes of fastening of dividing walls of body compartments. Load-bearing frame is provided with lightened side binding of angle type on which V-shaped struts rest, being coupled along axis with bolster. Lightened side binding is rigidly coupled with compartments and hoppers by cross-T-beams aligned with dividing walls of compartments equipped with windows.
