FIELD: tube rolling industry; production of tubes of large diameter by welding. SUBSTANCE: prior to rolling, welded seam is heated in inductor to temperature AC3 (120-200) C and after rolling, welded seam and zone of thermal effect are heated in inductor to temperature of AC3 (80-100) C and are hardened in water sprayer at rate of cooling of (70-100) C per second and are tempered at temperature of AC1 930-80) C. EFFECT: avoidance of instability of mechanical properties (impact strength) of welded joint and thermal effect zone to level of parent metal; avoidance of ovalization of tube ends. 2 cl, 1 tbl
