FIELD: hydrometallurgy of platinum metals. SUBSTANCE: proposed method of extraction of platinum and palladium from waste catalysts includes conversion of them to water-soluble state by means of oxidizing mixtures. Complex ions of platinum metals thus formed are converted to lowest oxidation stages by means of reductants; solution thus obtained is separated from solid residue and metals are extracted by known methods. Reduction is performed by means of sodium oxalate solution or ferrous sulfate (II). EFFECT: increased content of platinum and palladium in solution; increased degree of extraction of metals. 2 cl, 3 ex
