CUTTING TIP FOR ROTARY CUTTING TOOLS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: working metals by cutting, namely by means of builtup cutting tools. SUBSTANCE: cutting tip is restricted by upper side just near which one or several cutting edges are provided. Said cutting edges have mutually opposite bases and one or several back faces arranged between upper side and base. Cutting edge may be fixed in seat by means of clamping member that may be forced to its upper side. Cutting edge has (in its base) female recess for engaging with respective male member of cartridge or male member for engaging with respective female recess of cartridge or female recess and male dent for engaging with respective male dent and female recess of said cartridge. In order to enhance reliability of fixation of cutting tip in seat, female recess has dimensions of all sides exceeding those of male member and it is not designed for engaging with it at normal operational conditions. Cutting tip has on upper side groove with V-shaped cross section, said groove is designed for engaging with wedge shaped protrusion of clamping member. Angle between lateral surfaces of said groove is in range 160 - 170 degrees. EFFECT: improved design of cutting tip providing enhanced reliability of fixing it. 2 cl, 7 dwg
