FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method to produce metal-containing carbon nanostructures obtained from an organic compound with additives of inorganic salts. The method may be used in chemical industry to produce carbon sorbents, catalysts carriers, sondes for the tunneling microscopy. The mixture of polyvinyl alcohol with a copper chloride (I) or (II) in molar ratio of (20-1 : 1.) is repaired. As a copper chloride it is possible to use CuCl2•2H2O. The mixture is placed in a quartz trough and put in the tubular furnace and kept there under the temperature of up to 300 C for 3 hours. As the result of the operation one may obtain singular nanostructures, balls of tangled tubules, nanowire. The nanostructures may be hollow or filled with Cu or Cu or Cu2O. A mixture of polyvinyl alcohol with a copper chloride (II) may be prepared by mixing the corresponding solutions with the following drying in the open air till obtaining a gel. EFFECT: the invention allows to produce nanostructures under relatively low temperatures, to reduce power consumption and to use nontoxic or low toxic initial reagents. 2 cl, 10 dwg, 27 ex
