FIELD: heat technology in metallurgy, production of various metal-ware at metallurgical and engineering works. SUBSTANCE: furnace-bath for deposition of fusible coats on articles has bath with melt. Bath comprises technological section for transportation of coated articles and heating section. Heating section comes in the form of precombustion chamber carrying burners, secondary air nozzle and arch with fume-escape conduit. Pre-combustion chamber has variable width with partial overlapping of technological section. Process of melt heating in furnace-bath for deposition of fusible coats on articles includes heating of melt in pre-combustion chamber. Coats are deposited in furnace-bath with protrusion. Additional heat flows are supplied to section of pre-combustion chamber in front of protrusion by enlargement of heat-transferring surface of pre-combustion chamber. EFFECT: possibility of attendance of furnace-bath from two sides at exit of articles with elimination of melt cooling and preservation of high durability of bath. 2 cl, 3 dwg
