FIELD: mechanical engineering; rotary internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed internal combustion engine with rocking pistons contains toroidal working chambers, pistons arranged in said chambers and rigidly coupled through ring with shaft of drive installed in center relative to working chambers and connected with output shaft by kinematic mechanism. Intake and exhaust valve are found in each faces of working chambers and are operated by camshaft. Working chambers are made in form of pair of coaxial toroidal cylinders, each with two variable working volumes. They have only one piston in cross section relative to engine axis and kinematic mechanism is from of crank-and-rocker mechanism. Each piston is made with two side skirt. End faces of working chambers are provided with cavities to suit outline of pistons. EFFECT: reduced energy losses in kinematic and timing mechanisms, increased output power, simplified design of engine. 3 dwg
