FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine with rocking pistons has toroidal combustion chambers. Pistons are rigidly connected with hollow shaft by means of ring. Ring, moving in slot port, plays the part of movable wall of combustion chamber. End faces of combustion chamber are connected by inter-end curvilinear recess in which ring moves to provide tightness of combustion chambers. Mechanism converting rocking motion into rotary motion is made in form of twin crank gear with common slider. One crank is rigidly connected with hollow shaft and the other, with power takeoff shaft passing inside hollow shaft.
