FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in drives of starters of internal combustion engines. Proposed wedging axial-action overrunning clutch contains outer and inner clutch members, spring and cone. Novelty is that outer clutch member is stationary secured on drive shaft, and inner clutch member is fitted on splines of driven shaft. Wedging surfaces of clutch members are motion threads. Cone is installed in axial part of outer clutch member playing the part of damping device striker including also spring and shock absorbing part installed in inner clutch member for travel in axial direction along splines. Tracing device controls operation of clutch. Said device includes tracer installed on inner surface of outer clutch member. At free-wheeling, tracer moves along closed part of guides, and at changing into wedging mode, it moves along screw part of guides made at the same pitch as motion thread. Pawl is installed in place of connection of closed and screw parts of guides of inner clutch member and is spring-loaded relative to retainer. EFFECT: increased service and reliability of releasing owing to elimination of dynamic loads in process of clutch wedging. 7 dwg
