FIELD: microbiology; microbiological treatment of water; treatment of domestic or industrial runoffs; local cleaning systems in chemical and petrochemical industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on use of association of dinitrifying bacteria as electron acceptor of nitric acid which is fed to biochemical reactor in pure state or in form of aqueous solution in synchronism with oxidation of substrate. Process is performed under stat pH conditions; magnitude of hydrogen index of cultural liquid is maintained at fixed level within 8.0-10.0. Acid is fed to reactor depending on alkali content of medium.
