FIELD: manufacture of refractory materials for high-temperature units of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy; chemical industry; filling gaps in lining joints in beyond-furnace treatment units and steel vacuum treatment units. SUBSTANCE: proposed ramming mass includes the following components, mass-%: alumino-magnesian spinel of fraction 3- 0.5 mm, 4.0-20.0; magnesium sulfate, 1.3-4.5; iron powder of fraction 0.5-0 mm, 1.5-4.0; the remainder being fused magnesia. EFFECT: increased softening temperature under load; reduced losses of strength under action of cyclic changes in temperature and mechanical stresses. 2 tbl, 1 ex
