FIELD: ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy; may be used in the most intensively worn sections of lining of steel casting ladles, converters, electric furnaces and other units. SUBSTANCE: mixture includes the following components, wt. %: grainy and dispersed periclase powder, 75-92; grainy and dispersed alumomagnesium spinel, 7-20; chrompicotite, 1-5. Grainy part to dispersed part ratio of alumomagnesium spine powder is 0.45-4.0, and Cr2O3/Al2O3 weight ratio is 0.04-0.40 with MgO/R2O3 ratio of 4-11. EFFECT: increased stability of lining and duration of operating periods of heat units, and reduced consumption of refractory articles and expenses for repair. 3 tbl
