FIELD: refractory materials. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns production of high-stability carbon- containing refractory materials for linings of most wearing parts of heat assemblies in ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, in particular, for out-of-furnace steel-treatment installations and argon-oxygen metal refining assemblies. Refractory material contains, wt.-%: periclase and/or molten alumino-magnesium spinel fraction below 0.063 mm, 15-35; antioxidant - oxygen-free titanium and/or aluminum and magnesium compounds, 0.2-5.0; carbon-containing material, 5-20; and organic binding agent above 100%, 4-8. EFFECT: increased slag resistance and reduced oxidability of refractory materials. 2 tbl
