FIELD: electrical engineering; hydraulic centrifugal pump driving motors. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes investigation step, starting step, and steady state step. During investigation step rotor is turned through two 180 deg. angles in one direction and in the process rotor parameters are stored; this step includes determination of initial current and mechanical zero of rotor. During starting step power supply (inverter) generates current waves of practically sinusoidal waveform and rotor is started at heavier current than that at lower speed which gradually rises with rotor expected to cross 80, 100, 260, and 280 deg. As soon as motor has gained steady state speed, practically sine-wave current is supplied, and rotor is expected to cross zero points. Rotor position is checked by magnetic position sensor. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of motor power supply under all conditions. 15 cl, 9 dwg
