FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: system can be employed to raise resistance of embankments, existing and reconstructed tailing dumps in regions with permafrost grounds. System trapping discharges from tailing dumps on permafrost ground includes filtration embankment and tubular drainage, is fitted with drainage prism located in lower part of embankment on downstream side under water- impermeable screen positioned on drainage prism and tooth. Tooth is made of water- penetrable material, is located under prism and is linked with upper part to water- impermeable screen and with lower part to permafrost zone. System also has accumulating pond placed at some distance from tooth equal to double thickness of permafrost ground as minimum, its bottom is made of layers of water-impermeable material with heat insulation layers between them. Tooth is made of material providing for flow of filtration stream from tailing dump not exceeding natural. EFFECT: complete prevention of exit of depression curve to dry slope of embankment and noticeable reduction of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic pressure emerging in system base-embankment, increased stability and failure-free service of embankment. 1 dwg
