DIKE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: hydraulic engineering structures. SUBSTANCE: dike is intended for use at mining enterprises in erection of settling basins from ground materials. Dike has stratified drainage located inside it. Drainage is made in the form of interlayers with filtration material. Also incorporated in dike is thrust prism made of rock fill. This thrust prism is located in downstream slope of dike. Stratified drainage is made in the form of inclined sections parallel to downstream slope, and also of horizontal sections. Inclined and horizontal sections in combination create levels. Upper edge of inclined sections is located at surface of filtration flow. Horizontal sections are connected with thrust prism. Stratified drainage is provided with courses of pebble or gravel which are located above and below filtration material which is made of geotextile fibrous material with bulk density of 100-150 kg/cu.cm. Downstream slope of dike is provided with stratified drainage. EFFECT: increased reliability and stability; reduced labour-intensity in erection. 3 cl, 1 dwg
