FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to quarrying of building stone, predominantly on mountain slopes, it can be used to form rock benches of quarries and roads. Process of excavation includes formation of production bench, outlining of block by systems of rock holes, formation of crack in bench bottom, formation of damping layer in it from material demonstrating low sliding friction coefficient, separation of block from rock mass by formation of tensile stress over its outline, displacement of block from side surface of slope over damping layer, transportation and its shipment to user. Crack in bench bottom is so oriented at angle with horizon that it jointly with bottoms of benches worked out before within limits of developed layer forms surface inclined downwards, communicating with mountain slope. Antifriction material in the form lubricant is utilized to form damping layer, block is transported along mentioned inclined surface by gravity into dump, where it is braked by shock absorbers prior to shipment to user. Angle under which crack is oriented can be defined with the help of expression given in formula of invention. Formation of crack in bench bottom and formation of damping layer in it can be executed simultaneously with separation of block from rock mass by injection of lubricant into rock holes under high pressure. Ropes covered with grease, tightened from crossing point of inclined surface and mountain slope to dump can be utilized as shock absorbers. Shock absorber in the form of cylinder filled with damping material put on pendulum suspension can be employed in addition for braking of block. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of mining of stone blocks under conditions of mountain slopes thanks to decrease of shipping expenditures and energy consumption, diminished breaking of stone blocks in process of shipment. 4 cl, 3 dwg
