FIELD: measurement of optical characteristics of containers. SUBSTANCE: gear controlling deviation of parameters of container 14 which effect industrial usage of container includes light source 16 for direction of scattered, polarized light beam through container while the latter rotates about its own axis. First camera 24 is placed for reception of scattered, polarized light beam that passes from light source through part of container in such manner that first camera receives image of part of container in which deviations of parameters appear as dark inclusions against light background. Second camera 28 detects light beam that passes from light source in essence through same part of container and includes polarizer 32 directed sideways to polarizer located in front of light source. Second camera receives light image against dark background of deviations of parameters of stressed state in container which change polarization of scattered and polarized light beam that passed through container. Information processing unit 41 is connected to both cameras for examination of intercoupled images of part of container which is viewed by means of camera for detection and identification of deviations of parameters in container with dependence on element-by-element comparison of two images. EFFECT: development of economic and reliable gear and procedure for detection of deviations from specifications effecting optical characteristics of container. 15 cl, 3 dwg
