FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device contains a linear pickup and a linear light source, banknotes being driven for their check-up between the said pickup and light source passing thereby, while aforesaid pickup registers the light passing through banknotes from the said light source. The novelty of the invention consists in embodiment of the linear pickup and linear light source with a certain aperture so that the light source aperture equals and is smaller than that of the linear pickup.
EFFECT: use of smaller-brightness light source allowing higher contrast between light background and light passing through banknote due to dispersion.
