METHOD FOR TREATING PATIENTS FOR FACIAL NERVE NEUROPATHY AGGRAVATED WITH CONTRACTURES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2223799 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves administering electroneurostimulation in 30-40 min after peat applications with paired pulses of rectangular shape and 0.1 s duration with 5ms long delay between them and discrete stimulation frequency increase from 1 Hz to 10 Hz with exposure time being equal to 5-10 s, each point being treated 30 s long. The procedure begins at facial nerve trunk exit point before auricle floor tragus. Then, the electrode is moved to motor point of m. masseter, next, to inferior branch of facial nerve superior boundary of m. plathizma mayoides. Next to it, it is moved to motor point of m. quadratus menti inferior boundary and from it to the middle point of the muscle. Then, motor point of m. trangularis laborum, motor point of m. orbicularis orirs and the inferior and superior part of the muscle follow. The electrode is gradually moved higher towards motor point of m. buccinator, motor point of m. orbicularis oculi. Then, the electrode is set upon motor point of m.zygomaticus, motor point of m. elevator labii superior, motor point of m. elevator alae nasi tn labi superior and m. orbicularis palpebre (middle branch of the facial nerve), exterior orbit edge, motor point of m. frontalis and superior part of the facial nerve as motor point of m. supercilli and motor point of m. frontalis. The proc is finished with repeated stimulation of motor point of facial nerve trunk exit. The total procedure duration is 25 min. The number of procedures is equal to ten. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment. 4 tbl
