FIELD: electric spark treatment of metals; surface alloying, marking of sheets and making patterns. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has AC source, electrode-tool with end-piece, capacitor vibrator coil and bridge rectifier connected in parallel to voltage source; positive potential of bridge rectifier is grounded and negative potential is connected via active resistance with electrode-tool. Capacitor is mounted in vibrator coil circuit and its capacitance is equal to C = 1/ω(ωL-rtgψ), where ω = 2πf is circular frequency of AC source, f is frequency of oscillations, L is inductance of vibrator coil, r is active resistance of vibrator coil, ψ is angle at which vibrator coil leads voltage of supply source. Angle ψ is found from condition -π/4<ψ<0. End-piece of electrode-tool is made from high- carbon steel at content of carbon more than 0.45%.
