SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to the technology of making electrical machines. The proposed electrical method of impregnating and drying windings of electrical machines involves passing electric current through the windings. The winding is connected in parallel to a set of capacitors and the winding is impregnated and dried at the same time, while passing mains-frequency current through it in current resonance mode.

EFFECT: simplification of the process of simultaneous impregnation and drying, as well as shortening the processing cycle and increased output and quality of impregnating and drying windings of electrical machines with possibility of screening defective windings with detection of defective coating of inter-turn bridging and disparities in specifications of the nominal inductance value of windings when alternating current passes through at mains frequency f = 50 Hz in current resonance mode.
