FIELD: desalination of water of a surface pond. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of a desalination of water of a surface pond, that may be used for providing the population with technical and drinking water in the regions with a deficiency or absence of the drinking water and availability of a salt water at protection of an ecological safety of environment. The method provides for construction of the submerged water intake in a pond, mounting of the desalination plant with a reverse osmosis water desalination module with the help of which it is possible to gain desalted water and salt brine. At that the reverse osmosis module may be placed in the water intake or in the channel of water delivery from the water intake to the pond surface or to a shore. Besides one or more reverse osmosis modules are additionally placed in the water intake and-or in the channel of water delivery from the water intake. The water supply channel is made in the form of a well or a pipeline. It is also proposed to produce a desalted water and salt brine using hydrostatic pressure. The salt brine from the modules is recommended to remove into a surface pond or into a water-yielding stratum under the pond bottom, or in any underground water-yielding stratum, and concentration of salt in the salt brine of a reverse osmosis module should be leveled with the concentration of salt of the waters, where the removed salt brine is disposed. At production of the lowered saltiness water and salt brine at the outlet of the reverse osmosis module, the water is fed to a surface and desalinated. The invention ensures economy in desalination of water at protection of an ecological safety of environment.
