FIELD: pumps; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for agricultural, industrial and domestic water supply. In the method of sea water desalination, low hydrostatic pressure of the water column in the water area is used. To achieve the pressure required during desalination of sea water, a positive displacement pump with reciprocating movement of working member 4 is used, provided by using the energy of sea waves, taken during the reciprocating movement of buoy 2 with positive buoyancy, attached to pump housing 3, and elastic membrane 6, from the lower side attached to tightening weight 9 at the sea bottom, and from the upper side rigidly connected to working member 4. Pressure in the pump is increased due to the difference in the areas of elastic membrane 6 and the cross section of working member 4. Inside housing 3 to prevent leakage of sea water there is flexible sealed hose 5 connected to it. To reduce friction between flexible sealed hose 5 and working member 4, grease is used. Reverse osmosis module 1 is placed inside buoy 2, the weight of which and its displacement are selected so that when it moves upwards on the wave crest, the force of hydrostatic water pressure acting on elastic membrane 6 is overcome. Weight of tightening weight 9 at sea bottom is selected so that it is more than buoyant force acting on buoy 2.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption due to use of renewable energy of sea waves, continuous operation during a day.
