FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: method resides in preliminarily loosening surface of clay slab coming out of vacuum press at the depth 0.2-0.3 mm followed by applying coagulation composition onto surface and further mechanical compaction of surface layer. Agent compacting surface layers is polyacrylamide solution with density 1.02-1.06 g/cu.cm. Solution is applied onto pretreated header and spoon surfaces of ceramic slab by way of flooding or spraying onto loosened surface. Crude material is further dried to moisture content 4-6% and then fired at 1000-1050 C. EFFECT: enabled manufacture of products characterized by uniform coloration and color saturation. 3 tbl
